A Note from Mary Lou

Mary Lou Richardson received a BA in sociology and a Masters degree in forestry, working first as a natural history educator introducing inner city kids to the great outdoors. She later worked as a writer and editor for several publications, including the newsletter Water on Stone which highlighted women’s often overlooked contributions to the world. Continuing her desire to enhance the quieter voices among us, she helped set up the Dignitarian Foundation to raise awareness that everyone deserves respect and support, not just a fortunate few.

Nature has been a haven and an inspiration for Mary Lou, where she is reminded that there is beauty and perfection in all things and that life needn't be a struggle. She brings this awareness to her coaching by offering an understanding and encouraging space for her clients to fully honor who they are while learning to blaze a path wherever they wish to go.

Since their father passed away, Mary Lou has shared her life with a wonderful son and daughter, and assisted her mother in adjusting to Parkinson's so she could continue to live vibrantly. Compassionate coaching has helped her respond more gracefully to these challenges, while setting aside fun time for hiking, making music and travel.

She has received her training at the International Coach Academy, and is a member of the International Coach Federation.
