Answers to Your Questions
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is entirely about you. A life coach gives you their full attention and support while you decide what you want, set goals and take actions that move you forward. A life coach knows you are the number one expert in your own life, and makes sure you realize it too.
Who is coaching for?
Anyone who wants more out of life, is eager for self-exploration, learning, expanding and auditioning fresh approaches will benefit from life coaching.
How can I tell if I'm ready for coaching?
If you can answer yes to the following questions, you will reap major benefits from coaching:
  • Are you committed to changing your life?
  • Are you willing to accept new ways of looking at things?
  • Are you willing to make a monetary investment in your own growth?
  • Are you willing to take actions that move you toward what you want?

I'm already so busy – won't coaching just make me feel more pressured?

On the contrary, we often feel stressed, even overwhelmed, because we are working at cross purposes - and harder instead of wiser.

As your coach, I will help you determine what's most important to you, enabling you to effectively use your resources to make self-supporting choices - all at your own unique pace.

I've been spinning around in circles for such a long time now – is it possible to go in a new direction?
One of the most amazing things about coaching is that sometimes it takes only the introduction of a slightly new way of looking at something, a resource you hadn't known about before, or a good old fashioned dose of encouragement to lift you out of that endless loop and onto a path that's headed where you want to go.

Coaching sparks you in all these ways, and more.

Could coaching really be worth the price?
How do you gauge the value of your physical, emotional, and spiritual health, your focused and balanced use of time and energy, the benefits your happiness will bring to others?

Whatever numbers you come up with, from an investment standpoint you can be sure coaching will pay big dividends in these and other areas of your life.

Isn't coaching for people who don't have friends?

Friends are wonderful and indispensable, but coaches can do something many friends can't: hold your dreams and goals uppermost in their hearts and minds without thinking they know what’s best for you, being overly worried about you, or wondering what effect your choices might have on them.

What will happen in our coaching session?

Though there are notable differences in coaching approaches and styles, this is my general model:

Our coaching session will take place by phone or in person and last for approximately 50 minutes.

I will ask you questions to draw out what is on your mind. What dreams, concerns, challenges, or projects do you wish to give your attention to? What skills would you like to develop? Roadblocks remove?

Once we establish a focus, I will listen to, encourage and assist you as you formulate a plan of action for attaining your goals. Then you will choose one or more action steps, and head out to do your fieldwork. Before your next session, you can feel free to contact me by e-mail if you want to discuss any concerns or receive additional encouragement.

In subsequent sessions we will review the actions taken:
Are you moving forward as you had hoped?
Are you ready to challenge yourself more?
How will you celebrate your progress?
Is anything blocking your way?

This highly effective process will continue until your goals have been reached and your life is on the track you desire.

These days a coach can even help you map out your golden years. Different from retirement planners who will financially prepare you for retirement, retirement coaches aim to get you mentally, socially, and psychologically ready for the next phase of your life.
